Pouches carried in a universal carrier

Can someone help me identify the pouches shown in this photo that are below the Bren gun? What are they for and does anyone have a photo of one?

Cheers, Steve

They look like ammo pouches to me, but i'm no expert ;)

They might be for carrying ammo, but they are not like any P'37 gear that I have seen before... much larger and they appear to have a carrying sling.

These bags have been covered before.

Check out this thread.

Or do a search for "bail" in the carrier section.

Perfect... thank you very much! I would have done a search but because I had no idea what they were I didn't know what to search.

Bail-out Bags-

Didn't Stewart Loy send one of these off to be copied about two years ago?

Copier out of order

Charlie,

I did send these out to be copied, but the fellow that sent them to India came back empty handed. He was able to copy the cloth bags inside, but not the 'bail out bag' itself.

Leather pouch

After seeing this post, I remember I had a photo taken at the Cobbaton Museum North Devon.
This Windsor is owned by Preston Issac, is a runner, but is overflowing with bits and pieces.
This shows the metal "T" fixing, riveted on the rear of the pouch.
Stowage digrams I have seen list these as ammunition pouches.

By way of interest, Preston admits that this Windsor is not 100% accurate, can anyone confirm the that the stowage bin to the rear of the engine cover is original. Stowage diagrams indicate that there was a stowage bin in this area, and underneath is another mesh screen that covers the prop shaft. Is this correct????
