Hi PPL
This isnt WW2,but I hope some radio guru hear can answer the question of what set it carried ? Its an RAAF issue, dated 1966. The second shelf is what made it interesting to me ? http://onfinite.com/libraries/1124862/6a3.jpg http://onfinite.com/libraries/1124863/59f.jpg http://onfinite.com/libraries/1124864/342.jpg Thanks The Vietnam Collection |
They are the back pack frames for the A-13 which was a British HF man-pack transceiver.
I have several frames and severals sets of the radios, still needing some parts to completed them. Mine came back from Singapore when 1 RNZIR came home to New Zealand. I have only ever seen one complete set. I 'll try and scan a photo in tonight. The reason for the several styles of back pack is that they were a modular radio and had Transmitter units , receiver units, Battery Charger, Hand Crank Bat charger and from memory depending on how and what you built will depend on what pack you will need. I will try and get some more info from the manual when I get home. regards kev |

Thats the one.
I need the box that the aerial is plugged into, mine got lost in a move years ago. I have one complete set , missing above box, and one set of empty boxes, missing above box and generator. From memory it was a reasonably heavy unit to carry as we did have it running many years ago. Regards kev |
