R.C.A.S.C and R.A.S.C 3rd Cdn Div, 6 jun to May 45

Well I guess first I shall say hello all, from cold Australia (it's winter).

Can anyone point me in the right direction for finding out information about softskins, bikes and personell who were R.C.A.S.C and R.A.S.C personell within the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division.

Especially those persons and equipment that landed at Bernieres sur Mer on 6 June 1944.

Anything would be a great help, I would appreciate any input.

Cheers,

Dan.

RCASC query

I just composed a loooong email related to your inquiry - and I think the MLU system bounced it, thinking I hadn't logged in, which I had.
Rather than redraft it, I will quickly say, I had tried to contact someone who was a senior officer with RCASC, 3rd Div on D-Day, only to find he had died since we had met a few years ago.
Send me an email if you want full details, and I will fill you in on some other RCASC related things.

Regards

Hello Mark,

Thanks for responding and it is sad to here of the death of the senior RASC Officer you refer to.

Shortly after I recieved the notification of your post. My Grandfather who was attached to the 3rd Canadian Div for the D-Day Landing till the end in Europe, had just passed away.

I will email you shortly, I am interested in anything you could share for a painting representing RASC personell in the Normandy Campaign.

For your interest attached is an example of the work I do.

Cheers,

Dan.
