power question?
My carrier is starting and running really well at the moment, But I seem to be lacking power on the warp turns. its like a brake coming on.
Its not a brake because that would turn me. It's hard to discribe. Going good on straight Then warp turn lose of power Straighten up again and alls good. Any ideas? |

It sounds like your timing...It should advance automatically to give you the extra ,or at least hold the power level, but it may be bogging down because of the timing... Check your distributer and make sure that the timing is right and the advance system is working... |
Barry
Is it the same turning in both directions?
How are all your linkage adjustments? |
Same both ways.
I'll check the timing. thanks barry |

I think its not advancing.
She has a distributer off of an old ford pilot 8 lubes. I've just got hold of a new Distributer with 4 lubes, and will try to fit this weekend. Question: On the old pilot dis (8 lube) spark plug leads 1, 2, 3, 8, are on right side and 5,6,7,and4 on the other side of distributer is this correct. See picture. On the new one (4 lube) 1 to4 on right and 5 to 8 on left. Also there is no vacume pipe. Hope this makes sense |
