Brad

I think maybe the felt pads under and around your fuel tanks are supposed to be saturated in a tar/ bitumen type substance (sorry to put a dampener on your fluffy bright white) This is as I have found the originals, and it will stop the felt from holding water and rusting through your tanks.

Your posting is very timely for l am just doing my gas tank pads. Could you tell me where you buy the felt and if anyone has any idea on what they should be coated in l would appreciate it.

Yummy those pads look like Chocolate bars LOL, I'm using soft Rubber 1"pads on mine , the same pads that US firetrucks use on thier gas and water tanks. Cheers

Wasn't the canvas paint kind of a specific material not unlike a bitumen compound?
