Hooded Carrier

Hello Clive

Jeez that looks like it would be claustrophobic when closed down!

I guess the troopies in the back were left unprotected!

Steve

PS Notice the carrier has TWO bridging markings, two and/or three tons

Universal Carrier with overhead cover

31 March, 1942 minutes of the CAO's AFV User Committee noted that British Home Command had developed overhead cover for a Universal Carrier, and that the AFV UC wanted to test it. A set of the top plates was obtained from Home Commnad and was to be installed on a Canadian carrier for evalutation. I have not yet found a report on the outcome of the test, but I would agree "claustrophobic" is one word that would come to mind. A carrier with top cover seems awfully like coming full circle back to the Carden-Loyd "tankette".

Is that with or without the Bearskin turbin? Isn't there a law or something against people over 5'10" owning or driving a U.C.?
Cheers,Cliff ,(4'0" AT EQUATOR).
