Ryan STM

I've been busy in the air this morning shooting a beautiful Ryan STM for the Temora Aviation Museum.

Geoff, I know what you're going to say already... tomorrow if the weather holds I'll be flying in and filming the Hudson, Wirraway and Boomerang.

Here are some more shots of the Ryan.

Wow...You live in Australia, have several CMP's and take pictures of planes for a living.

I have only one question.

Do you need an assistant!

:)

our keefy

our keefy sure gets around it seems that Temora is his second home. Whenever he's quiet on the forum you can bet he's gone flying yet again.

With all the rain we've had recently it sure must be a picture from the air.

This airplane must be 65 years old, and looks better than new.

We have to thank the Dutch for ordering them, and the Japs for arranging them to come here.

If I recall correctly, this was the airplane that Don Kendall flew, only weeks before he died from cancer.

What a fitting last ride.

Regards

Col Tigwell

Don Kendall

Hi Col

No, this wasn't Don's aircraft, although the guy flying it did work for Don and lusted after his Ryan and was even allowed to start and run it up, but Don was the only one to fly it.

It's a pretty little aircraft, isn't it?

Yesterday while filming, Lars was making pass after pass at me in the middle of the airfield nice and low (and legal). A lovely sound as it comes across the top, the little supercharged Menasco chugging away.

We'll be doing the same with the Hudson, although it will be a different experience having a WW2 bomber bearing down!

It does look nice, although we've missed the canola the wheat and vivid Patterson's Curse does look nice.

We're just checking the weather to see if we're going to fly. We don't want to get caught over at Nowra overnight because there's no hangerage for the aircraft.

We flew

But not to Nowra... instead I spent more than an hour with one of those grins on my face...

Looking like a period Black and white.

Here's one taken from the Hudson so you can see the Wirraway camera ship.

Lots more here.

Hmmm...looks like a silver pre-production spatted Ju 87B wanna be with a wannabe Adolf Galland piloting as a back seat driver.

...he said with jealousy dripping and a wistful look in his eyes...

 :salute:

You're welcome! Now, can we have it back to enjoy it for the next 65 years? :)

Well done, Keith, thanks for the pics!

H.

Nowra

When they hold the air show at Nowra we are going to try and be there with a blitz or two. Would be agood run from Yass to Nowra going the back way.

We're going to have send those Canadians maps so they know where these interesting sounding places are that end with -A, Nowra, Cowra, Corowa, Temora, Canberra, Yass-a.
