Warriors Day, Preston On

10 Sept 2005,

Warrior day parade in Preston Ontario. Does anyone have a Mil Veh that they would like to put into the parade?

The town of Preston(Cambridge) always manages to have an excellent parade. The Regiment(RHFC) will be out in fighting order with the pipes and drums, several other bands, lots of the local Cadet Corps, of course the Veterans, and the Legion Colour parties.

Step off at noon, start point is at the Arena at Bishop St and King St, and it ends at the Legion down town, about 2 1/2 K. I'm sure there will be an ale or two.

Interested parties please contact me through this means, or call my home no.

Geoff W/B ( the shadowmaker himself) is trying to attend, and he says he's wearing battledress!

Karmen and I will be there if we still have a pulse. If my foot allows, I WILL be in battledress, with a mostly-shaven head... :D :p

Does this mean that poor Rupert will be left cold, naked, and alone with Tom, cats, and raccoons while we're away? :(

(no comment on the bald head) :p

We'll leave the door open for the raccoons to forage for themselves. Rupert can keep his helmet as I will be wearing a beret (you can put your underwear on him if it makes you feel better)... :D :p

No, not the blue one. I know that's your favorite :D

Meanwhile ... I wonder if it's possible for me to "dress the part" too for this event? Or is this done for civis? It would be great if I could, but wherever could I at least borrow a full womans uniform? :)

Announcing the Sad Demise (?) of Sunray..

As Geoff said in an earlier post:

"Karmen and I will be there if we still have a pulse. If my foot allows, I WILL be in battledress, with a mostly-shaven head..."

As they didn't show, they must have passed on the pulse part.......

They do have a chance to make up for it in Waterloo at the Veterans Green next month....

Geoff Winnington-Ball (RIP) 16-09-05 14:19

Consider it done. Sorry for the last (things are going on right now I can't explain). My son lives in Waterloo, so it will be a two-pronged mission.

Garry Shipton (RIP) 16-09-05 22:47

You know GWB--

If you wear battledress with a couple of crutches, you won't pay for one beer at the legion after the parade.Just a thought !! :salute:
