I had trouble reading the ad , 10 thousand what? Good luck I say. I think I'll have to get a fixer upper. I do have my eyes on one that I may be able to get now that I am moving home. Shh, its a secret.

That vehicle looks an awful lot like mine, restored by Lorne Ertl, bought by Dave Moore and then bought by me.(Keith, please update your database, tx).

Hi Jon,
what is the price of cheese in Denmark? Where, what kind, how much etc etc.
Is this one complete , everything right , run well, etc etc. I know that it is well out of my budget. Even though It 'could' cost me that much to restore a derelict I would only be paying it out in dribbles over much much time. But for someone to 'order up' a CMP in the hspae the picture looks then I would say it is in the ballpark though slightly high end. I think 6-8k would be appropriate for an older restoration, though something is worth what someone will pay for it.
A good example of this is model T's and A's , in the 80's (when the people that wanted one when they were new were buying them) they were selling for 15-20k and now they are selling for 7-10k running restored etc. You could have picked up a 70's muscle car for 3k and now a nicely restored example is running 50-100k because the people that wanted them in the 70's were teenagers and now they are executives.
All I can say is for sure it that I would love love love it, but it isn't going to happen if we all just talk about it and don't start donating to the SPENCER CMP FUND:cheers:

Yes, Sean...it all comes down to how relative it is to your lifestyle.


Are you historically inclined?

Are you imbued with skills and ability to do resto?

Do you have the facilities to do the above?

Do you have family support?

Do you have community support?

Got the bucks to carry on?

I'm blessed with some of the above, but seriously lacking in some others. (Family support is +++, personal skills and abilities are - - -).

So, it's all relative to one's current station in life. I have chosen to purchase a fully restored CMP because I cannot restore such a vehicle by myself. I simply do not have the skills.

Mind you, I certainly can appreciate the background efforts by those who have done the restoration of my vehicle and can thus vicariously relive a bit of my youth.

Its a tough one..
 

...as to whether I would rather be riding or restoring. When you fix that really tough bit or figure out a way to do something without breaking it , there is a real endorphin rush. However when you add in the peripherils like work , home, husband father duties I don't get enough time to "feel the rush" . So if I could buy and drive tomorrow I would be all over it. I certainly don't begrudge anyone that ability..except Cretien , Mulroney, King Paul the 1st....:cheers:

Long time Prairie Command member Dave Thompson is cleaning out the shed. Great restorer , his vehicles are minty. Carrier went to a collector in the Yarmounth Nova Scotia area.Very complete and ran like a purring kitten. Truck complete also. Cheers Rob
