VE Day Celebrations-Amateur Radio
 

As of this date, and for the ensuing month of May, in order to honour the event at the subject line, all amateur radio operators are authorized to use the following prefixes during their transmissions:

All prefixed VA3 call signs are authorized to use the prefix CF

All prefixed VE3 call signs are authorized to use the prefix GD

Should any ham operator anywhere on Planet Earth hear "CF3 CIC"...that'll be me, signing on with pride!

Also, a special consideration was granted for the use of the call sign CF3VEDAY which will operate from 5-12 May 05 only, coincident with the opening ceremonies of the new Canadian War Museum at Lebraton Flats, Ottawa.
