Amsterdam May 5th

I read on another board that there will not be a vehicle parade this year in Amsterdam for the 60th. Can anyone confirm this? I will be there May 4th & 5th and was hoping something was happening. Is the celebration on the 5th in Dam Square going ahead?

tnx,
Bruce

Bruce, this is correct. Two club members of Keep Them Rolling are involved in organising this event, were told by the municipality there will not be a vehicle parade this year. As for the reason(s), thatīs pure speculation.

Thanks Hanno. I guess I'll try to get to Apeldoorn for the 8th.
I hope this isn't a political correctness thing.

lest we forget

Apeldoorn should be worthwile, I'll be there as well.

Rumour has it it is political correctness which prevents army trucks running down Amsterdam's streets. But we'll probably never hear the real reason (if there is one).

Lest we forget, indeed.

Seen in the Dutch newspaper "De Telegraaf" an article of my daughter Mariska.
The translation is very easy this time: It's a shame for Amsterdam !!!
