Mystery spare valves box
5 Attachment(s)
Hi All,
Gathered a few items yesterday at my favourite army surplus place. Most of it was 19 set items for my carrier. One item was a spare valves box. Can anybody recognize the number on the box? Curious if it belongs with the 19 set somehow? There seems to have been something stowed on the inside lid. Thanks for any input! Regards,Derk |
What a hoot!
That was sitting on a shelf in the far back left corner of the store in the 70's along with a Coils, Aerial Tuning No. 2 A from a 52-Set. The name of the equipment (not wireless as I recall) was still legible under the newer stencil on the lower front of the case. I bought the Coils Assembly. If the older stencils are no longer easily read, the VAOS Number might tell what it was connected to equipment wise. Radar comes to mind as Jim had a ton of that stuff sitting behind the Highway Quonset at that time. David |
It's the spares kit for the Canadian R103 receiver.

Thanks for the responses fellas.
Now I have to Google what an R103 receiver looks like!! Regards,Derk |
“Radar”, “Receiver”...
I got the “R”s OK, just the middle bits muddled up over time. At least you won’t be needing to find a radome from the Pinetree Line now, Derk. David |
I’ve always wanted a staff car. Maybe this is a sign I need to get one. You know, to display the spares, valve box. And then of course look for a Canadian R103 receiver as well to show what radio set the spare valves box was for.
Back to a Google search now! Derk |
I believe I have two or three of those kits form the same store.
