It's hard to say because there's so few of them and they change hands infrequently. Lp1's are very hard to value as there probably less than 10 survivors . It all depends on the condition, how urgently you want one and how desperate the owner is to sell. I had the opportunity to buy LP1 No5 , but these opportunities don't come again very quickly.
LP2A carriers are more readily available (than LP1s), but again the price depends on condition and the urge. I have seen a complete rolling hull (inc track, no motor or trans) for $200, and a restored one at auction fetch $16,000. The right price lies somewhere in between. The right place to look is where other collectors don't look (Zen wisdom of MV collecting). The 6 carriers in this pic were for sale for $1200 as a job lot, take 'em all. That's a lot of scrap armour for just two good hulls and lots of running gear. I turned the offer down.

Occaisionally a good deal turns up. I found out about these two carriers, but they had already been sold. They came complete with a new diff and sections of new track. New track is something that doesn't turn up every day and would make a good buy if offered as parts with a poor carrier.

They are, but they are so far from anywhere (;) ) and the owner will only sell all six in one lot. There probably only two good hulls (with a lot of work) and the rest are just scrap. The piles of parts are so badly worn/rusted, they are next to useless. I know from the preparations going on madly at the moment for "Year of the Carrier" just what it costs to truck a Carrier about the place (and these are much further than most), and to cart six worthless hulks would make the deal way overpriced.
