There is a guy Don Gordan on the island that has an 800 weight truck that converted them to 15". He took an old trailer wheel and cut out the center of it and then bolted the 13" combat rim to it and gave a couple tack welds on the back side and has been working good ever since that I can remember. Something to consider as nearly impossible to find any decent 13" tires.

13" wheel

i had been considering that believe it or not.
still would have to find tires.

are ther any 13" combat rims of any bolt pattern around?

Paul Singleton 27-08-22 04:37

13”

There was a private wrecker yard near me that did have some 8 cwt six bolt wheels. The grandson lives there now, I will see if there is anything there this week. Shipping would probably be expensive though.

That's quite neatly done, as the overall "look" is pretty much the same!

There is a number of options for period looking 9.00-13 tyres though; Trelleborg, Alliance and BKT for instance.....but in all honesty, they are all Implement tyres, so if you are after a DOT tyre, than you would have to look at other options.

I understand you are looking for 5 lug wheels. Paul is referring to six bolt divided rims as fitted to 8 cwt trucks, so those will not fit on your truck.

Have you tried contacting one of the many hot rod custom steel wheel manufacturers? From what I know there are plenty of those in the USA?

You could contact Bart wheels. The manufacture wheels for the racing crowd and may be able to help you.

http://www.bart-wheel.com/index.htm

Bart also at one time would sell a wheel shell so that you could weld in your own wheel centre.

the truck will only be run on grass. i will have a set of 16" jeep tires ready for the road, but the truck itself is more of a dune buggie than truck.

i will check them out but if you do find a set of 13's with a 6 bolt pattern il compare the cost to having them made. thanks

wheels.

Thinking, the studs on a 1940 ford pickup are mounted on the brake drum. For 20.00 in studs i coulgs make any wheel bolt pattern i like by drilling and pressing new studs in. Give em a tack for good measure. thanks again.
