info Box
good morning everyone,
I recently found a cassette marked TL 8815, similar to that of the bren rod holder for universal carrier, unfortunately when I go to upload the photos it gives me an error. I wanted to know which vehicle it belonged to and what its contents were. You can also write to my email nordland41@gmail.com Thank you Regards Luca |

Not a number that crops up in a pre Universal Carrier or in the first two Canadian MkI* parts lists. Nor can I see anything in the later Brit parts list stowage diagrams either (Although I dont have all the pages) I wonder, is it an addition from a 1945 MkIII carrier?

Here is the British parts manual showing a BREN spare barrel as an assembly number with individual internal components and external bracket. While the TL part number sequence is similar, the bin itself by this period (1944/45) is different. The bin applies to the three MK’s of British produced universal carriers.
If Luca could find a date, it may shed some light on the application. I am thinking earlier that the introduction of the universal series. . |
Wasn't the "TL" series of part numbers also used on the Vickers Light Tank?

I think you are right Tony. Having looked at Colins, some years back, most internal stuff is aluminium. Maybe out side? or what about the Dragons?
Michael, I have a parts book for the pre Universal series of carriers and it is not listed in there. |
