F60h
Does anyone have an opinion please on how the F60H relates in any way to the Fordson 'County' conversions, the 6 x 2 version not the 6 x 4? Also is there anything that GM may have adopted from the rear bogie to create the C60X? I believe the rear rods were brought inboard for instance. Incidentally Fords did offer the DND a F60X as alternative to their Zephyr V-12 - powered F60H proposal. I just wish I knew whether the 150 bhp V-12 chassis was actually prototyped! That would have been awesome, more so possibly than the much later Chrysler straight-8 C60X.

Keith's right if you have a look you can the big 'pot' diff case for the overhead worm drive. I think you'll find the crane is a petrol electric 3 ton Coles mounted on a Leyland Retriever 6x4. The FAT would appear to be a Guy Ant looking at the hub ends, they are very distinctive on Guy's. Nice pictures though are there any more in the set? Pete |
