bent shifter test
2 Attachment(s)
I am hoping this proves useful. It is not uncommon to see speed change shifter gates modified by cutting away material, or completely removing the gate altogether.
I have not been able to find the official documents, but there are a number of speed change control levers (CTL 4950) observed with a section of angle iron welded to the long portion of the arm. :salute: |
Hi Michael R., I assume the angle is just laid along the thin straight part and welded there as a stiffener? Good info, I will store for later.

I have, in the past, had to heat and bend the lever's long arm in order to get all the gears firmly in position. Worked every time. Not surprising the army had similar problems, but I had always written it off to variations during the rebuild.

A very interesting piece. Thanks for sharing.
