"Timing should be close, apparently!" :D

Sounds real close to me, Harry. Runs like a Swiss watch. Well done!

Great job and getting everything to this point.

Good 1st run

Hi Harry

Great to see your restoration coming along so nicely. Did you find any oil leaks?
Also great to put face with a name.

Years ago I got to this stage with my C60S Pattern 13 and no leaks then I took it out on the road and it started leaking oil from the rear main at the rate a quart every three miles. But that engine looked so clean when dropped the pan, valve covers that I just cleaned the pan new gaskets and filled it with oil. Turned out the rear main sealing surface was pitted hence the oil leak. Pulled the engine had just the seal surface ground, everything else mic up as being stock. It was a very low mileage truck. Now have learned that if rear seal are can be sleeved which works even better than having it ground.

Look forward to seeing the next steps.

Cheers Phil

I have a little spark indicator between the spark plug and lead, so you can move the distributor back and forth with the ignition on and time it pretty close.
The clutch fork was too tight as when the plate under the pedals is installed it depressed the clutch pedal, I adjusted the 4 wheel engagement to the shifter for the transfer case shifts better, the Winch brake needs to be tightened up a lot and the brakes are holding pressure, I think I'll be pulling the master, grrr

As for leaks, it's coming through the compressor pump and overflowing. Probably needs a new bushing. I also forgot to put on a coolant recovery bottle so that pucked out a bit after I ran it up to temperature. All problems I've dealt with before.

Rumble

Anybody have any trouble viewing the video? I'm trying out Rumble as a host instead of YouTube.

Rumble problems? Nope

No trouble for me. At first I thought Gunner Mike was in the seat. You two have a strong resemblance.

Happy to hear the old girl run, and like how smoothly it started.

Harry, thanks for sharing that video. The link to rumble works fine for me. Any reason to choose for rumble over youtube or vimeo?

Good to see the functional testing with the truck on axle stands, I have done this myself and it works well to check major systems before embarking on a test drive on the road.
