Sorry what I meant to say is what Model and number of CARB is it, Ford, stromberg ??

It's a Holley 94, and you can see "Model 21-29" on the side of the fuel bowl, same as any other late CMP Carb. Fitting the special wadeproof horn to the top of a standard carb makes the assembly a C49Q-9510-A.

Thank you Tony!

This is a very interesting piece of kit!

I wonder if any Ford CMP’s have survived anywhere with signs they had this kit installed?

Also curious if flexing between the engine and cab would have created any problems in designing the installation?

David

Hi David

I believe that some of the hundreds of CMPs that entered my country had this kit. In the place where I got these pieces, there were remains of these kits, but incomplete, so it must have been about 20 or more. Currently none of the surviving CMPs have this kit. I have noticed some extra holes in the cab that detail having had these kits.
What I don't know is what snorkel would be like ...

While this thread has been about the Wadeproof equipment used on Ford engines, I see in another thread on CARTER CARBURETTORS there are some detailed pics of the "Dustproof" Carter W1 Carb used on Chev and GM vehicles, the W1-589S Carb.

This carb would utilise the same waterproof aircleaner as the Ford one with the same airhorn adapter, to be used in Chev/GM Wadeproof applications.

Very interesting

I've no doubt that the system worked. Would like to try it on one of my trucks.

I'm am curious if the instructions on wading mention what happens to the radiator fan?
Is it removed? Or are you not supposed to drive in water that deep?
Is there some sort of kit or prep for the coil?
Snorkel for the driver?

I think the same of you about Fan, may be a Generator Brace like Willys MB to quick release...
The wadeproof manual no mention remove radiator fan or belt....
