Mystery straps

Happened upon a batch of web straps only identified by nomenclature stamped on the webbing.
I seem to recall WW2 vehicle web straps having similar numbering.
These are stamped 8247 and 8248 and are coloured in a yellow hue similar to WW2 Commonwealth web gear.
Any ideas as to use age?

Chris, Could you please post a pic or 2 of the straps. With attention to the buckles and width please. We should be able to drill in on them from that.
Thanks,
B

By the lengths that you PMd me, I would suggest they are the gas can straps that get rivetted onto the gas can bracket. I had a look at an MLVW I have outside and it has the identical straps, although the part number can't be read anymore.

These look like American buckles - which work. I may be wrong but I have not seen British or Commonwealth WW2 light web straps fitted with this style. They seem to all have been those worthless brass square type that can not be tensioned properly or easily undone.

I think Rob is on to them.
