Is this the Stromberg Carlson amenities radio?

Yes , the Aust. amenities receivers were made by AWA and at least one other brand plus the STC version. some of them will power up from either a 6V car battery or the mains AC. http://archive.vk2bv.org/museum/c17020.htm

Its worth as much as you are prepared to pay for it ! I think I paid $40 for the STC I had, it came with the owners tag still on it, a Sgt. Adamson, he had purchased the set from the ACF commisioner at Wewak.
