Drivability Issues?

I am considering installing a deep water snorkel kit onto my 67' M38A1. I have heard that it may cause drivability/cooling issues (slow, sputtering, stalling, etc) due to less air volume, pressure & speed from the long air delivery hose.....is this true?...and if yes, please explain.

If I further add the long deep water exhaust will this add to the possible drivability issues?

Does anyone on MLU have both (snorkel & exhaust) installed with any issues?

Thanks in advance,

Les, carburetors are set according to air/fuel mixture which is subject to such things as atmospheric pressure, elevation etc. Not such a big deal today as vehicles use fuel injection systems.
Whenever the fuel to air mixture is changed, adjustments to the carb must be made. Adding an excessively long intake or exhaust alters the typical air/fuel mix. I am sure things would run just fine with such a setup as long as allowance is made and the carb is tuned to suit. Simply adding a fording kit and expecting it to run just the same is highly unlikely without some tuning work.

Hi Chris....thanks for your response....if I install the snorkel kit and have issues I will try to adjust carb and will update this post.
