Steering connecting rod DUST COVER Chevrolet
3 Attachment(s)
I am triying to figure out what the Dust covers looks like on a C8/C15 Steering connecting rod, and/or what others have used to keep the dirt from getting into the connecting rod and damaging the ball from the steering box/arm and the ball from the steering knuckle/tie rod.
I am thinking of fitting a set like in the picture, but I have no idea if this is what was originally fitted. Any ideas/suggestions? Alex |
Hi Alex,
Give me a day or so and I'll photograph my C15 4x2 steering dust covers, which hopefully will help you. Regards Keith |
Thanks Keith; much appreciated.

Hi Alex,
2 pictures attached. Looking at the ones on my C15, they wrap around the draglink, and is secured with a stud, which is welded to the cover and a nut, underneath the drag link. Hope this helps. Does Dirk have any ? Regards Keith |
Quick fast and cheap.......
Track down a supplier of Dodge M 37......... the steering dust will fit beautifully on a C15a...... and they are real leather not foam rubber..... about $10 each and you will need two.....one at the steering arm the other at the other end nearer the axle.
You may need to soak the leather in "Neats foot oil" to soften the leather. Cheers |
