For C-15TA: "Waterproof blanket case"

The manual shows two large bags as item 19 - Waterproof blanket case" for 4 blankets (x2)

I can't say I have ever heard these being discussed before. Much less seen one.

Does anyone have one or two for sale?

If you have a really rotten one, I would still want it as I can make a pattern from it and make up a copy.

Or good photos of one and some basic measurements.

I met Jim last week, and me being a C15TA owner this subject came up in our discussion.

Have found these images in the thread C15TA CES list and drawings - see items "11" and "19".

If anyone has ever seen the "Waterproof Blanket Case" or has any more info, I would be very grateful.

Jim mentioned he thinks they were made of rubberized canvas, hence being waterproof. I reckon this is an item that was used on other vehicles than the C15TA alone?

Attached is a picture from Clive's factory photos CD, showing one of the bags.

I did see Dutch, British and US Blanket bags in the past (often for medical units), but these differ from the Canadian bag shown in the drawing/pictures.

Thanks for that photo, Alex!

Here is a comparable item, a set of "blanket cases" an acquaintance of mine bought some years ago. I think these are US Army ones, and seems to have been part of US Army Medical Corps equipment.

Someone surely will know more about these pieces of equipment, I hope? :confused

Just noted that "Aristocrat" is carrying its waterproof blanket cases on its front fenders:

I have some Canadian issue “Blanket Valise bags” that hold 10 blankets. Although they don’t look like the ones in the pictures I was busy today taking pictures of all my stretchers and thought I would post some pictures of the blanket valise.

(It’s so nice to be retired and have the time to tinker around the house!)

Thanks for that, Derk! What is the approximate size of these Valises, Blanket, please?

The blanket cases for the C15TA would be stowed on top of four haversacks, which gives an idea of their size.

Happy retirement and keep making pictures of your collection!

Sorry Hanno, been a busy few weeks!

The measurement of my blanket valise is;
32 inches/82 centimetres long
22 inches/52 centimetres wide
17 inches/43 centimetres deep
It’s designed to hold 10 blankets.

I managed to buy a 1943 blanket valise from Chris Gareau in North Okanagan, BC, Canada. He was so kind to drop it off at Robert Morrison who was so kind to ship it over to me. The MLU express still works! :thup2:

Still looking for the C15TA waterproof blanket case, though! Even if it is bad condition so I can use it for a pattern.
