1943 Chevrolet Jeep?
 

I know that this one is not Canadian but it is a Chevrolet built product. It is supposed to be a 1943 Chevrolet Cel, serial number 2. The U.S. Army always wanted jeeps to weight less than 1,000 pounds. This was Chevrolet's prototype of a lightweight jeep, having a net weight of 1,062 pounds. I believe it is one of 2 prototypes still in existence.

Who can tell me something about it? It is in the Military Technology Museum of New Jersey. USA.

HI Rick, good to see you're still in the game.
According to Vanderveen's book this one of two 1/4 ton 4x4 Extra Light vehicles built by Chevrolet during 1943. They had Indian 83A 2 cylinder engines of 20.5 bhp and 3F1Rx2 transmission. WB was 64" in, weight 1062 lb. Independent suspension. Top of cowl 38-3/4" in high. Central steering. The image in Bart's book appears to be a sketch rather than a photo.
