1952 2 1/2 Ton, M37's, Jeeps

Just seen this add on Kijiji and thought I'd share. Vehicles are supposedly located in Wetaskiwan AB as the add states. The Deuce and a half looks nice and has a tarp on it. I have no connection to the seller.

These vehicles have been sitting there for many years and will be high priced, also look at the dates of the pictures taken 2010.

So Super Dave are you saying that what you see will be well rotted by now?

chris vickery 30-11-16 01:12

Always galls me when Kijiji users misrepresent items by either using outdated photos, or someone else's photos of a "similar" thing.
I am still trying to figure out whether I like Kijiji or hate it. I suppose it is a love/hate relationship as I have been victim both as seller and as buyer. On the other hand I have also scored some good deals and made some great sales too.It seems to me that the bad/good ratio is about 10-1 unfortunately..
As the old adage goes, you don't get something for nothing.
Usually just a headache.

The Deuce and the M152 are clean enough, but $7500 for un-restored un-maintained vehicles might be a little high. I usually pay about half that for vehicles in that condition. However, I suppose if one really had the hots for either one, you would be much further ahead to pay the extra for the unmolested clean example than purchasing his M37 cargo with it's obvious damage, or one of the many butchered M135 deuces that are out there.

super dave 30-11-16 03:34

I first seen that deuce about 11 years ago and is still owned by the same owner, His prices are high for what they are as I think he believes that they are made of gold. The other trucks are all non runners.

I never noticed the picture dates, interesting! I talked to a fellow enthusiast from the Edmonton area who personally knows those vehicles after I started the thread. Seems like there's lots to be had at that location but due to the sellers mile high visions, it'll probably turn to dust before it sells for what it's really worth. :salute:

So, as usual with such japes and scrapes, I placed a phone call to Andy, the seller.

He seems reasonable and willing to sell, the prices are, well, up there, but who knows if I can make a deal on a gem that I have spied.

He seems older and trying to clear bits and pieces up.

I will likely strike a deal in a few weeks if he gets back to me with more pictures and details on my object of desire.

I am trying to build a load for next spring now, as my other purchase didnt complete this fall and the weather has closed in now.

Let us see where the saga goes . . .

Well that's good news Robin. If you make your way out here, let us know when and maybe we can assist with the logistics of loading, etc.

Robin Craig 01-12-16 11:09

Peter,

if a deal is struck, eventually, I will need (paid) accomplices to sort the load out as it is highly unlikely I would make the trip west. I will add you to the call list of possibles.

While I could easily enjoy a few weeks swanning around the prairie looking at vehicles and taking refreshments it is unlikely that there would be a home to return to afterwards :drunk:
