FAT cab 13 front bumper cable rollers

2 Attachment(s)
Hi folks :)

My cab 13 FGT is missing the cable rollers on the front bumper.

All the cab 13 FATs I have found on web do have the late, big one.

But the FGT in MB - F2 is a cab 13 but has the early, small one, used on cab 11 and 12 models. (So does the cab 13 C60L in MB-C2 book)

The thing is - the only roller set I have found for sale (yet) is the small one, so I am thinking about putting it there - but my FGT seems to have the later - round instrument -dash board. So maybe it should have the later type or the rollers, shouldn't it?

Thank you for your opinions,

Frankie

Here is a Picture of my bumper. It does not seem there are holes for the bigger type...? I am not sure how is it fixed there.

It's missing the scotch hooks, too, doesn't anybody have few pics of them?

Thank you,

Frankie

Yours looks to have had the smaller type fitted, that uses the same holes as the D rings, though the bumper could have been switched at some point.

Thank you for your reply, Niels, i Thought so...
Could you please send me a picture of the "Scotch hooks" on your FAT?

Were they same on Chev and Ford? I do not think so... They look more "pig-tailed" on the Ford...

Oddly both of mine do not have any trace of scotch hooks on the front bumper

Hi Frankie
If you go to this: http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...667#post226667
you will see a photo of a bumper I have with the hooks. I can take more photos if you need.
Cheers,
Barry

Thank you all.

Barry: thank you for your offer, but it seems that the Ford ones differ :) Would be cool to find a complete bumper as your one is!

Looking through my pictures it seems that the hooks on the bumper are a Cab 13 "thing" and not fitted to Cab 11 or 12. and sadly the Cab 13 FAT I have access to does not have the original bumper

Relax Frankie!! Your vehicle is late production (ie. 1944-45) which includes certain features:

1. FORD CANADA front shell
2. Military dashboard (ie. round gauges)
3. Late type bumper (includes provision for late type front fairleads as shown below)
4. various cab improvements (eg. windscreen demister slots)
5. sling hubs front & rear

Just to clarify early/late bumper difference:

Example showing front mounted spring bumper. These appeared in mid-late '45 production.

...and here's a late production FAT depicted in drivers handbook showing late type fairleads, rear-mounted spring bumper, scotch hooks fitted. This is how Czech examples would have been configured.
