1940 c15

On kijiji, Sask. under classic vehicles. I don't have a link but a search will find it. Sounds a little high to me.

I think this the link

Maybe there are redeeming features the seller forgot to mention but there are many missing parts and a stuck motor as negatives at the price. On the other hand, it does seem to have a steering wheel and I saw a steering wheel at $600 Cdn on ebay this morning.

Nice example of very early 4x2

No air vents.... no rubber parking lights on front fenders, sheet metal look half decent, battery box still inside ( condition unknown )

Hopefuly the engine cover panels are around somewhere.

Price is about twice what it might be worth..... engine probably a boat anchor or will need total rebuilt which is worth as much as what he is asking for.

Hope someone saves it.

looks to have the wrong tappet cover and that is a tough one to get

Looks like it needs the right tappet cover which is hard to find

Bob Carriere 28-02-16 03:23

Looks like a 216 valve cover to me....

What are you seeing George?..... not sure it is a CMP 1940 valve cover...... but a 216 is probably right..... engine tranplant or rebuilt engine????

A shame the price will probably mean it will rust in place!!!!!!!

Cheers

That's the tappet cover with the ventilation slits in it. That type was used in the first trucks but they didn't work out in the desert sand. They changed (mid 1940?) to the type with no vents and used a different breather system.

So it may be the proper valve cover.....

....and that would make sense for a very early cab 11 ...... it might even be the original engine????
