The strangest pieces of WW2 junk turn up in the oddest of places . This lathe for instance , found on a local farm here . Id say a Lend Lease lathe .

Built 4/43 sent here for munitions work . It was offered for free, I gave it to a friend

It has been saved . I don't have the shed space so my neighbour has taken it . He plans on getting it up and running .

Hi Tony

It's been on ebay for ages . Yes it would have been involved in war work . The seller will be lucky if he gets the scrap price for it . These large machines are just not practical , nobody wants them . I think he will have to pay somebody to cart it away ! Maybe a railway restoration group but they would want it for nothing .
