LSVW Manual

Thanks for responding Gilles. I just bought one of these trucks and right now Im looking for a general operators manual. I don't know anything about the controls. If there is a maintanance manual that would be good too. Anything would help.

Thanks

Manfred

Manuals - current use vehicles

Manfred:

Use the Access to Information Act for a complete list of applicable manuals.

The vehicle is still in service, therefore it has all the current manuals you need from bumper to bumper (and whatever parts fell off on the road), as well as operator, 1st, 2nd and 3rd line repairs.

I suggest you send a polite letter to the Associate Deputy Minister (Material) and ask to be provided with the office name, address and telephone for the Life Cycle Material Manager (LCMM) of the LSVW. (Don't try to hit one person's in-box, because individuals have privacy protections.) Start working the mail to identify the names and official numbers of the most relevant publications. Tell them you will use the Access to Information Act to request copies; you are just trying not to waste time, effort or money asking for the wrong things. And, once you have the paperwork in hand, make a point to ask every year which amendments or changes have been made to those books.

It seems like doing things the long hard way, but ultimately you need to be well informed in order to operate the vehicle safely, and maintained in a manner which will not put DND into a position of liability for not letting you know that there is an immediate inspection order for the left rear axle nut retaining pin. (What if yours has a fatal accident after DND ordered the fleet off the road for a critical inspection ... ?)

I suspect that CTAT will apply to some of the manuals. It seems like the defense online book repository has more manuals locked than are available these days. Even a lot of checklists were becoming controlled.

Just because the DND uses the material does not mean it will have the authority to give out the manufacturers technology or procedures.

LSVW manuals

Manfred
Yesterday I got the complete set of manuals for the LSVW. Give me a week to sort out the info(on a stick) and then I will send you a copy. The only thing I ask is to share the info with other owners and not sell the info. Will need your address.

Lsvw

Ryan, I bought a cargo model out of Kingston. The ones with the van body seem to be in the best condition. Interestingly a lot of them have been rustproofed by KROWN. Then again there are other ones there that have not been rustproofed.

Any chance of obtaining a copy of those manuals too? We picked up three at work (movies) and though I'm already pretty familiar with them from my Sigs days, the more information available the better when the wheels come off. Figuratively...I hope.

Wpns 421 11-03-16 12:51

Yes not a problem please send me an email to gchartrand101@gmail.com. Cost is $75.00 and I will send by email or send a stick and I will load and send.

Hello, I'm new to this form. I purchased an LSVW last year and I'm wondering if I would be able to get those manuals off of you as well, if its not to much trouble.

Manual LSVW

Hello everyone.
I am new to this forum and I have an LSVW since some months.

Hello Gilles, I take this post to ask for your help for the following manuals: Maintenance, 1st line maintenance, parts book and repair manual if you have.

I do not know if you can send them to me by e-mail or by mail. If there are shipping costs or whatever, I do not have a problem with that.

Thank you very much for your help.
Yanick.

Wpns 421 07-01-17 14:55
