 Removing the spraypaint over markings you want to preserve might be as simple as rubbing with a paper towel wetted with lacquer thinner. It worked for me on a M135CDN I once owned. I suspect the relative age of the paints helped and it might also have been related to the paint types used. |

 Paint removers (including spray on oven cleaner) will generally only remove the top layer of paint. I know when I used to do militia jeeps, 8 coats of paint = 8 applications of paint remover. |
