It took about a week to make , cost about 2000 pounds in your money, all up. If we had made several, we could have got the cost down a little bit more. There were 246 teeth to cut. Cheers.

All in all, sounds reasonable, especially if you don't have one and you need one. Machining work is never cheap, it takes expertise and expensive equipment. That's one of the issues in our hobby; hobbyists simply do not understand that time is money and the world works on capitalism.
BTW, I am biased as I grew up with a wonderfully talented father who was a world class toolmaker.

That is terrific work Andrew, have you considered selling the CAD file so people could gave their own cut and avoid shipping them across the world?

No, haven't considered that option. The ring is actually quite light considering it was cut from 25mm plate. Cheers.

As a matter of interest, what did you use Andrew? Bizaloy 80??

Grade 350, which is a medium tensile steel and machine's really well.
