Rear spring shackle pins
What is the easiest way to remove the shackle pins on a ford blitz rears axle
I have removed the locking bolts and have tried to hit them out but they don't seem to be moving at all is there special way they come out Any help would be gratefully appreciated :salute: Thanks |
To be honest, I never had that much trouble getting mine out. Do you have access to something round and a little smaller diameter that you can drive them out with? You will need to be careful not to mutilate the threads that grease nipples screw into.
If you get one end out, you can try moving the spring set around while working on the other end. Obviously the axle wouldn't be attached to the springs for this to work. |
Thanks for that Tony , i was trying to remove with the axle still attached
as well  |

As Mythbusters guys would say, Well There's Your Problem!
I found difficulty when I tried to remove the pins with axle still on. If my brain had been working the day we met in Toowoomba, I could have brought you the two adjustable stands I made, which the chassis sits on. Attachment 76066 They are height adjustable and have rubber across the top (not in the photo). I will be taking a set of wheels & tyres to Deans place in a few weeks time. Do you want me to bring them for you? I won't need em for a loooooong time, so they might as well be of some use in the meantime. |
Thanks for that Tony,
but I made a set of stands already but Thanks for that |
