Australian Dingo

Hi all

I am considering buying this Dingo and would like to know if anyone has the rear armour or parts for this project. I dont want to let this slip through my hands but no point getting it and cant complete her in the future( and i do mean a long way down the track must complete the cab12 first). I do know that there are several Dingos still around in museums and private collections that i could take measurements from however would like to use as many original parts as possible.

GOOD OR BAD would love the feedback lads. Cheers Shane

Belfields?

Shane 12-02-15 04:49

Yep sure is. Got any info on it Ryan?

Bob Carriere 12-02-15 04:57

Go ahead......be daring.....

Pick it up Ryan...... at worst you can use it as trading chips for other projects.....

Bob C.

PS..... and include the sand channels in the deal!!!!!

Hi Bob, I think you mean Shane lol. I don't think Shane would be too impressed if I stole his project out from under him.

Belfield bought that in.....the late 2000s. It was sitting in a yard in dandenong.

Ebay

I spotted it on EBAY for sale in Dandenong .

Colin Anderson had one in similar condition , sold at his auction in 2003 .

A bit of a dud design . But I guess they would have been used if the situation up North became desperate .

Western Australia

Nungarin (WA) Military museum has some rear hull parts as well as the armoured front plate etc

Cheers

I think some of the rear armour (for this type of vehicle) is in another section of the storage yard.
May have to have a poke around a bit...
Rick C (on MLU) may have some info as I think he had 1 for sale a while ago.

Interesting project and easy to replace the armour providing you can access an original sample for measurements and templates.

Dingo

Ricks Dingo would have been the one to get.

I don't know if he still has it?

Shane,
Darren A. at Southern Cross Militaria restored one awhile back. He has since sold it but it may be worth touching base with him to ask for advice;

I believe that was Mike Cecil's Dingo . It came from West. Aust.

Terry Kowalik 04-08-15 21:26

Stick with your Monkeyface CMPs for now, Shane.

Mike Cecil 05-08-15 17:17

Yes, Mike, it was mine: hull ex-Bob Dimer in WA, chassis, running gear, etc ex-Tasmania, additional parts ex-Victoria, so quite a composite. I'd also had a number of parts made, such as the MG magazine carrier. I think the chassis I got from WA with the hull went to Rick, but it is a long time ago now: Rick will remember.

I had partially restored it up to the time it was sold to DA, which was not long before we moved to the USA. I wasn't going to get back into restoration after we moved here, but stick with research & writing .... famous last words! Now I divide my time between both as the mood takes me, but nothing armoured (I'll leave that wheeled heavy stuff to the likes of Peter and Rick, and just enjoy their posts!!).
