Footman loops 2 1/2" between centres
Gents, does anyone have a source for these footman loops 2 1/2" between centres as used on a carrier rear for securing the tarp.
Kevin. |
No mate but I have one for a pattern, not sure what SWG they are made from but I considered making some.
I know you can get jeep ones by the bag full. Let me know if you find a source :giveup |
A simple Google search reveals hundreds of places to find footman loops.
Look on eBay etc. I believe what you require is what is referred to as a " 2" footman loop " as the size is determined by the strap and not by the center to center bolt distance . |
For what it's worth, McMaster lists 1" (webbing) loops as being 2-1/8" c-c and 1-1/2" nominal as 2-5/8" c-c.

Some are cast from Brass/bronze while others are simply bent roundstock. I could not find my spares when I was finishing my carrier up so I made the last one up from the bent roundstock...took about 10 minutes.
|
The ones I have are bent round stock too.

Chris, if you buy them from the hundreds listed on ebay you will find the mounting holes are way to small!, you need a 1/4" or 5/16" can't remember which mounting hole, pretty unique.
The ones I took off a 42 carrier were bronze/brass, can make some easy enough but just thought someone might have some kicking about. |
How many do you need Kev ?
|
Six richard.
|
Desperate or after Xmas ? If I am making some for mine I might as well make six extra... Will give one a go and see if it meets your standards.

No , not desperate, I was going to get some spaces and tig weld some wire, no bother, u can get em made.
Thanks for the offer. Kevin. |

I've been refused by McMaster as well, but that has already been discussed. I included the link to provide an image with dimensions to link webbing size to hole spacing.
We can hope that one day they'll relax a bit since they seem to have an amazing variety of product listed. |
