I wonder if it was something the local Home Guard knocked up, looks like it is made of ordinary steel plate. Wheels seem to date it. Interesting to know what it was built on.

The wheels look humber? and it looks similar to an ironside? But not exactly the same,

Humber?

Door shape is wrong. Hood line is wrong. Might have been a mockup for a film or TV production. Or maybe ... a British Isles version of Ned Kelly?

Dear Charlie especially, and others,

It never was a Land Rover, is not a Land Rover, and certainly will never be a Land Rover. :thup2:

Apart from that I have earthly clue, but Charlie needs keeping on the straight and narrow as it were. :nono:

He gets wandering does our Charlie :giveup

...don't know who suggested that it was a land rover.

Regardless, if it were closer, I'd have it home.

Strange why someone went to all the trouble to make this, does not look like a military prototype, as 4x4 would be expected which it is not and looking at wheel stud pattern it is not a heavy duty rear axle. Engine looks like a diesel, and am wondering if it is one of the early 2 litre Rover diesels. Tried zooming the pic but not clear enough. Certainly not wartime as I originally thought.
Front bumper does look a bit L/R.

Might be a mobile chicken coop, they are quite popular here for free range chooks, but they usually use a modified caravan. But this ones a great idea as its self propelled!

That looks like an aerial mount sticking out the side, doesn't it?

I noticed that as well. Think we would need to see a few more photos of it inside to get more clues.
