Dale,
I believe that any WW2 dated commonwealth shovel will fit. I have several types and they all fit due to the flexible design of the brackets. The pick head is quite specific, as it was designed off the WW1 pick head as they had so many in the Army at that time. The section where the wooden handle goes must be small and the diameter/thickness quite shallow. Any normal/modern pick head may fit but you will have to alter the clamping bracket and it will interfere with the exhaust pipe. All the correct pick heads that I have found have all had 1918 dates and makers initials/brands stamped into them. I may be able to get some pics tomorrow if no one else chimes in. |

This pick head is stamped 1918, and secured correctly.

Thanks Darrin . That makes sense every time I try to fit my pick it hit up against the tow hook and was just to long by 6mm and hit the left exhaust pipe and would not aloud it to move up level as to fit the hold down bracket , this is good to know . I tried my GPW jeep shovel angle of the head was to much and would not let it go deep enough into the holder thus the top part of the shovels head where your foot goes when digging was half way over the exhaust pipe and handle end touch the other exhaust ..
