I have these two dizzy's in amongst my kit, the original divers helmet dizzy never came back with the lump, can anyone ID what it is ?

Ben 16-03-14 20:20

I don't have mine to hand but it looks like a Lucas one. I have a Lucas and divers helmet you can borrow if you need to.

I need a "crab" style one ? As that's what the ignition kit I have coming fits.... For some reason I thought that's what I had....

Ben 16-03-14 21:13

If you just need the case I may have a crab. I'll look tomorrow.

RichardT10829 16-03-14 21:18

Richard,

Could you please attach your pictures to your postings? External links will disappear someday.

Thanks,

Yeah no probs, bear with me I will give it a go

Lynn Eades 16-03-14 21:53

Richard, they are Lucas. Any chance of getting the rotor as your not planning to use it? They are hard to find.

RichardT10829 16-03-14 21:54

Lynn if I get sorted then it's all yours, infact you can have both dizzy's for parts I might have a decent cap somewhere for it too i know they are sought after over your side.

RichardT10829 16-03-14 21:58

Careful on your dizzy choice Richie as when the crab was introduced over in America the nose of the camshaft was changed too. The crab can be retrofitted using an adaptor plate and distance piece to interface with the cam drive. The Lucas type are a direct replacement for the divers helmet and there is a postwar ford UK Lucas distributor which has a similar body to the wartime Lucas item but with moulded connectors for the plug leads.
