Jim Burrill 08-03-14 17:11

Thanks Richard!!
Warmish day today... I intend to mess around with my carrier a bit.

Need to order a set of rivit mandrels from you. I bought an air hammer last year, but have never tried to use it yet. Not sure what size it takes... If I remove the spring, and measure the inside throat with a caliper, will this give me the measurement you need to decide what to send me?

I would like to get a set and at least one of each size rivit you used. I expect I will then take those around here to see about sources. Seems silly to pay for international shipping for a box of them if I can get them here. But can't pass up the opportunity to get my hands on the "right stuff" that you found for doing it up properly!

I am champing at the bit to see your carrier at W&P when I come over!!

Brian Asbury can be contacted by PM or email via his MLU profile.

HTH,
Hanno

Jim it will be standard 3/8 shank... I will start knocking a set up for you... It takes a day to machine one from start to end, and there are three shaped heads to be made.

I can obtain rivets here too, butby virtue they are not light and postage may be hefty.

As Hanno has pointed out Brian is available on MLU and his response time is rather quick

In the meantime I will send you the list I have as it's only 14days old.

Cheers

Richie
