Can anyone ID this radiator
Hi all.
I acquired this radiator with some other parts. I was told it came from a bandiana auction. Weighs a tonne. can anyone tell me what it's off. Tried to upload pics to MLU but it wouldn't let me so photos here http://s1221.photobucket.com/user/xr...?sort=3&page=1 Cheers Luke |
Luke, I have no idea, but it leans toward British or European, imho.

the "LMLtd" stands for Leyland Motors Limited. See attached image. It is stamped or cast on every part of the remains of an early solid-rubber tyre Leyland truck I have. Your radiator is reminiscent of a Matilda tank radiator - but is far too small and has the wrong fittings. Jared |

Radiator or oil cooler?
It is definitely a radiator and not an oil cooler? It seems to have attributes of both.

Im pretty sure its a radiator, looking through the ports i cant see any trace of sludge or oil but it does have that thin layer of corrosion like a used radiator has. |
It does look small, judging by the aerosol can. An oil cooler wouldn't have those fittings. It will be a radiator. It would have to be part of a tandem radiator set up, or has a remote filler in the top. The little fitting would be an air bleed line? It is not Vickers LT, or Valentine. Is it too small for the likes of the Cruiser tanks (I am only stabbing in the dark, as I have no idea if Leyland ML was involved)
Does that prompt anything Richard? What about a power pack of some sort? Just my thoughts. |
