FOUND CMP 1 Ton 2 wld GS Trailer

http://www.geocities.ws/cmpvehicles/...on_2wh_gs.html

Just found a 1 ton GS trailer complete with all data plates & X number same as the one in above link but has 4 corner support legs & over run hitch like my 1940 150 gallon Water Bowser, any ideas ?

As I read the linked page the "The British Trailer, 1 Ton, 2 Wheeled, General Service" is part of the category "non-CMP vehicles" but the title of your post is "Found CMP 1 ton 2 wld GS trailer" so I'm a bit confused about the information you are looking for. If you are looking for CMP trailer info I may be able to help but if it is a British trailer I don't know enough to be useful.

Hi Grant my mistake, I assumed it was a CMP based trailer because of the small CMP type wheels & I didn't read the title properly which read 'non cmp type vehicles' so lets assume its a British made 1 ton or 20cwt trailer do you know anything about them ?

Ian,

Other than the information posted on my website of which you posted the link, I have no further information on these British trailers.

I do know they did not have an overrun brake (see the specs), so if yours does it is a modified one or a different trailer. Posting pictures does wonders to ID it.

Restoration is now well underway, it turns out that this is a British 20cwt unbraked trailer converted to a 10KW Generator post war & sold off in 1955

Ian,

If you send me the information I could add it to the web page if & when I update it.

But as I am not actively updating that web site any more, I think it is best to post the info and pictures here.

HTH,
Hanno
