Most of these are gone and I have only 2 originals but great to have them to copy.

They are all done by hand

colin jones 31-07-13 04:31

Lucky they were made simply

I used a wood saw for the spring steel for the clip

I used some heat to bend the clips then re-tempered again

Very nice Colin. They shouldn't last long. They are the hard to find box at home.

Euan McDonald 31-07-13 06:19

Colin, you are a machine! :note:
I would like to see a pic of an original canvas tool roll if anyone has one.

Colin I think you need a new hammer
I think some carpenter is missing a hammer

Hi all, I have just about completed a few sets of bottom engine heat covers. I don't think many of these survived as they are really hard to find. These are a 2 piece cover with aspestos in the originals. I have used fibro cement and spot welded the pieces together. I will be selling these if anyone needs some.

I had to make some serious press tooling to do these with quite thick steel not to mention a lot of them.
Colin.

yes Please

Hi Colin

I will have to check the ones that I have, but definitely would like to fill in a couple of holes where they are missing..

Will check tomoz and see which ones are required..

We refitted the engine on Thursday.. only drama is we have to much oil pressure...

Tim

I've just finished the last press tooling and done the put one together. Also made some small rivets to fit the inspection plate as per the original. :)
