This microphone and Receiver set is compatible with the 19-Set, but different in look from the assemblies supplied with the 19-Sets.

What Wireless Set was it originally designed/supplied for and how does it compare in reliability with the 19-Set headgear?

After prowling through the EMERS Tels for the WS No 19, I'd venture to say that any headgear assembly with a snatch plug would be compatible with the 19 set.

These include:Microphone & Headgear Assys No.1 CDN, No.2 CDN, Canadian Type 10, and No. 8 Canadian.

The assy which you queried is listed in the Equipment Issue Scale for the "Installation Kit W/S CDN No. 19 Truck and Ground", so it evidently was meant initially for 19 set use.
