Carriage marking 4.5-inch BL Gun.
 

Has anyone ever seen this before or knows what it signifies. We uncovered the white circle on the outside of the left leg (looking from the breech end). Any thought appreciated.

Last night we pulled the bearing caps off the trunnions and we hope to lift the cradle out of the saddle over Easter.

I have a manual "Maintenance Manual for the Ordnance B.L. 5.5in Marks III and III* on Carriage 5.5inch or 4.5inch Gun, Marks I and II, 1943" - is this the same kit you're working on?
