Transporting a trackless carrier

Today Euan loaded his carrier do do some work on it before sandblasting. The shed where it was stored was in a paddock still a bit wet so phase 1 was to move it to where it could be put onto the trailer.

This was done by a '3'cylinder Land-Fill.

After bleeding brakes and generally fettling up an old trailer it was loaded using a Dawn hand winch:

Looks like hard work:

Turns out the trailer has automatic tilting (!)

But of course it was just an illusion. Actually, we could have changed both back wheels at this point.

Always helpful to have some watchers:

But eventually, after a lot of winding...

... it was on the trailer, safe and sound and beautifully balanced.

You don't want to be in line with it when unloading. They're a lively little beast when they get moving downhill! I know that from personal experience at a loading ramp once.

Thanks for the advise David,
Used the winch on the CGT to unload the carrier today. Once off the trailer it was a job to winch carrier up the drive and into a carport for a little prep work before sandblasting.
Found the land anchor from the CGT came in handy at the top of the drive.

I have hauld hundereds of things on a trailer . When you load a heavy thing you should put a block under the back of the trailer or you could bend the frame of thetrailer doing it your way .
