CMP body stowage bins

5 Attachment(s)
I have 2 of these bins I bought for my ambulance project and realized they don't go on the ambulance so will sell or trade them. They were bolted together so have extra holes in them that will have to be filled in with weld otherwise are nice straight bins with working hinges and latches.Asking $125.00each or $200.00 for the pair.Or I am looking for the Ford CMP engine crank guide and a cab 13 window stowage bag.

These are for the 3-ton body, right?

derk derin 23-08-12 23:36

And 30 cwt bodies?

Yes,they are for the 3 ton and I believe on some 30 cwt bodies as well?
Regards,Derk.

If I'm first I'll take them.

PM me with payment method and how to get them to Burnaby.

derk derin 24-08-12 02:45

Shipping?

Your the first one, their yours if you want them.Send me a mailing address and I can check on shipping but they are heavy and might want to find somebody driving through Manitoba that can drop them off for you first.Lets see if they are affordable to send to you first before you send money!
Anybody coming through Manitoba going to B.C.?
Derk.

Derk,

Thanks for the confirmation. Now someone will tell us these differed between Chevs and Ford as well, eh? :rolleyes

I am not absolutely sure these are for 3 tons. I have had the 3 ton boxes and I think they are a touch longer. I was the one who spotted these out in my favorite scrapyard where Derk eventually bought them.

Might be best to get some measurements and compare them with known 3 ton boxes.

Hanno: I think there will be a difference between chev and Ford boxes these days. A ford box will be rusty from all the extended years of use, whereas the chev ones will be near mint. Between the leaking oil and the short service life of tChevs, they did not get the same life as the Ford boxes. However, I suspect they were the same from the factory.

They look a little different than the ones on these http://www.ebay.ca/itm/CMP-C60L-1944...itary_Vehicles
I'll look through the CD from service publications for them. The latch system is the same as my Trailer tailgates.

Actually,I just had a look at Canada's fighting vehicles and I see a mix of both kinds used...the longer one and the shorter one. There does not seem to be much rhyme or reason as to whether it is on a cargo or a van box.....I see either type on the various trucks. Perhaps there was a change based on dates? I have seen some changes in stowage when production was altered for the jerry cans vs the POW cans.

Measurements

I measured the box and it is;
29 inches wide
14 1/2 inches high
18 inches deep
Maybe somebody can measure their 3 ton boxes and compare the dimensions to see if they are the same.
Derk.
