1 Attachment(s)
we are busy with the axle cover right now.
on the deck are 2 brackets just under the battery box with in the middle the tripod bracket,i guess for the track jack or jack handle?
any help with measurements and position are welcome.
also the measurements for the jack bracket are welcome.

That is the jack bracket just to the right of the left exhaust cover.
Just straighten the bit with the peg on it, and put the strap onto the other side.

Im not sure what measurments you are looking for. That rear deck is complete with all of the brackets/clips that were on a standard Mk1* Carrier. There is an approx 3/4" hole beside the far clip. That is for the conduit fitting to pass through. It holds the wiring for the tail light fitted to the rear plate.

roy206 15-04-12 14:12

this is not our deck.
our deck only have the 2 exhaust covers, and on the right side against the rear armour plate a little bracket in the corner.
what i need is the measurements from the 2 brackets and the bracket for the lifting jack, also the the right position were fitting them.

Hi, Here is a picture drawn of the two brackets for retaining the jack, also the centre boys tripod/monopod bracket, also details of the rear battery box rod support strip bracket and ration tray strap retaining stud. The jack brakets are easy to make from one piece folded steel. attached are the ones i made. I have since come by some original brackets but they are no different to these. Have not got dimensions of were they are located on the rear deck at the moment.

the little bracket in the right front corner is for the starting handle and goes from the left too the rear all over the deck behind the jack brackets?

kevin powles 15-04-12 22:18

on the rear fender right side is a little bracket mounted against the rear armour plate,(on the picture it is damaged)

rob love 15-04-12 23:42

If you are talking about a little bracket that forms a small box, that is for the end of the engine crank. It runs the width of the carrier, and the handle is stowed on the left fender.

roy206 16-04-12 19:24

i got a nice drawing from michael and on this i can see it is for the crankhandle, thx for the information

roy206 16-04-12 19:26

@ kevin
are the straps rubber or are they made from leather?

rob love 17-04-12 01:34

Early carriers used rubber straps, but when the rubber got scarce (1942 time period) they went to webbing straps.

roy206 24-04-12 19:39
