Mk1 carrier aerial rod retainer brackets

Hi, I have received a couple of fairly rusty 'aerial storage brackets' which go on top of the engine covers behind the armoured plate next to the popgostick storage position. Has any one got a picture please of there exact location and how they are mounted, cant seem to see them on here talked about before. I thing I will have a go at salvaging theses ones.

thanks kevin.

Im pretty sure this is the part you are after?

The back one is the same part and it bolts to the metal strip with the two holes in it.

Hi Alan, Thanks for the extra picture, I have two brackets, both of which are rear ones as they have the remains of the upright brackets still attached, what I need to see is a picture of both brackets together.

Hi Kevin

If you have a copy of UC-F1, on page K6 is a picture. What do you want to know exactly? something to do with TL13238 or TL13239?

Did you find the answers you were after?

kevin powles 05-01-12 17:52

Hi Lynn, I havernt had time to check the parts book for TL numbers but what I am after is a good picture of thoses areial rod stowage brackets in situ, I have two usable brackets but i think they are both rear ones as they have remains of bracket TL13238 attached to them, but i think the brackets are the same front and rear, (the brackets have a hinge and a brass wing nut on them with three dividers for stowing 3 lengths of aerial).

Thanks Kevin.

Kevin, both of the rod clamping bits are the same for the front and rear. The upright strip and the other mounting bracket are different.

Do these help. The broken bit is part of one of the brackets.
It is funny , but I never knew what the skinny bit was until you posted. I'd asked Ben, but the parts book description hadn't helped.

Jordan,

Whilst we are looking at that area of a carrier, are the two brackets that hold the pogo the same height? I know the bracket width is slightly different to allow for the diameter of the shaft and rod but apart from the width is the clip pretty much the same?

Thanks

Ben

Is this what you are after?

kevin powles 08-01-12 01:18

Hi Jordan, Thats great , thanks for that, I managed today to heat them up to cherry red and free off the hinges and latch, but in doing so have broken a couple of lugs off the wing nuts, so am looking for some replacement wingnuts.

Being made out of brass, could they not be brazed back on? Or check ebay for them. Ive found a lot of older style british fastners that way.

kevin powles 08-01-12 11:19

Hi, Yes will have ago, by the way the exhaust downpipes should be ready end of next week, have made all the flanges from scratch.

thanks kevin.
