Recreation Leave

Over the last year or so Jo and I have been lucky enough to get away for a few days here & there. I thought I'd share a couple of my favorite photos from these trips.
Who can guess where they are?

This one below was my favourite destination... (Near Daydream Mine, Broken Hill)
http://www.shedfullofshit.com/images...2/daydream.jpg

You can taste the history in the air here, absolutley beautiful... (The old Cudgewa line, beside the road to Corryong) Answered correctly by Rich!

And this one we visit almost regularly... (View from "The Rock", near Wagga Wagga) Answered correctly by Rich!http://www.shedfullofshit.com/images...lbum/12/TR.jpg

:thup2:Who else would like to share their favorite holiday snaps?

Gee Howard, you have given us sooo many clues. Not Tassy, ACT, or WA, so thats a start. I expect most of the MLU audience may need more help.
Top one, across toward Mildura maybe.
Rail bridge looks like the old Cudgewa line, beside the road to Corryong.
View from The Rock
Added ours for a bit of contrast
Rich.

Howard 08-11-11 00:40

Almost!

Well Rich, your photo ain't from around here, that's for sure. Cabramurra area?
Looks more Northern snowy rather than Victorian...
And Rich, you have scored 2 out of 3 with your answers...

Richard Coutts-Smith 08-11-11 01:16

2 out of 3? I'll have another stab and say Coopers Creek.
Ours is a mountain in the Victorian Alpine area, although most days you can see Mt Kosciusko from a rather comfy chair behind the large picture window. Serenity.....
Rich.

Howard 08-11-11 10:17

Clue...

Mate that does look beautiful... except for the snow!
Here is the road to my first photo...

So many clues Howard, don't make it so easy.
Silver City Highway?
too flat for the Flinders Ranges
Starting to through darts at the map....
Rich.

Howard 08-11-11 10:40

Good Enough...

Like most, we don,t get away often enough, but when we do.

Keith Webb 08-11-11 21:47

How about this one

This was a couple of years ago, Trinity Beach near Port Douglas:

Then with a 1940s insert:

Richard Coutts-Smith 08-11-11 21:59

At least we can all guess Bob's spot. (Howard, take note of judicious placement of large clue to show location of Bob's favorite carpark)

Wow Keith, nicely done.
Rich.

Mystery location

See who can correctly guess where this is. (Hint: It's part of Australia).

This was part of a very unusual and interesting holiday several years ago.

Why, oh why, would we need to "Get away" when there are views like this only 20 minutes from home?

Welcome back Tony!

Welcome back, old friend!
I have missed your insight, knowledge and sense of humour!
I look forward to hearing more from you soon... AND seeing... because, as we all know, most threads are "...useless without Pictures!"

Welcome back from me as well!
To the more recent arrivals, a very knowledgeable chap has just returned to our forum.
Tony, keep me in mind for a visit during one of your future NZ trips.

Fraser Island is off the coast of Queensland (and incidentally at one stage harboured the wreck of a No8 FGT!)

hrpearce 23-11-11 11:16

OOPS Flinders island,I got the first letter right :bang:

Euan McDonald 23-11-11 11:19

Smaller than Flinders Island and closer to the mainland, and yes on the tugboat.
