Took the Carrier to a Car show

Took the Carrier for a Drive to the local A&W for their Car show. (5 Mile return Trip)
Lots of interesting Hot Rods
Approx. 50 people immediately Gathered around the Carrier to Have a look.
Hot Rod Guys were a little pissed off ,They have More spent in Tires and paint than I have in My Carrier.
Nothing Like Having all the Attention Drawn away from your $40.000 Buck Shelby to Be Trumped by a Tracked Vehicle

Thats great fun !!! did the same sort of thing to some airboune jeep owners one outside a cafe in Oosterbeek, as my American friend who was crewing the carrier with me said as we sat enjoying a drink near the carrier "they thought they were hot sh$t untill we turned up in the carrier" (the 3 jeeps left with in 5 mins of us arriving and the crowd transfering to the carrier.

The little lady and I went to a big car show a couple of years ago. Me in the M3A1 White Scout Car and Jill in her 1955 Citroen 2CV. We arrived in the mid 3/4 of the 250+ vehicles and parked next to each other. For the next 2 to 3 hours, we had the biggest, by far, mob of people around our two vehicles. The $80,000++ shinny hot rods and the lovely restored other cars hardly got a look but the 2CV and Scout Car were the cars of the show. Not the only time that has happened either.

Regards Rick.

I was with Martyn at the armed forces day last year and the reception his carrier got was unbeleivable stirred up so many fond memories with the Vets..... the thing i find with the jeeps (and i dont wish to cause offence and i would have one myself too but...) there are so many of them ! they are still very much two a penny imho this would be closely followed by american half tracks..... i still fancy a nice 42 GP in desert colours ala SAS but before that i want my CMP, Loyd, Stuart, and a nice Morris comercial PU8 (or similar) so the jeep will be low down in my list of wants (below the CVRT)

carriers rock enough said guys hahahahaha.

again not meant to cause offence... they just 8nt my cuppa as much as carriers and the above are.

Heck, even my Frankencarrier got the crowds when I used it to tow our float in the Canada Day parade... Tracked and green just gets attention. Plus everyone has seen old cars, the firetrucks, so some variety is a big deal.

Took the carrier to a car show

Somthing different .I have a 1928 A Ford car that I bought from the original owner .It has # 5 license plate number for Alberta .I take it to shows and have never won a trophy with but I have the satisfaction of watching the 25 or 30 guys crawling over it all day long .Last week I took my RCAF Fordson bomb hauler to a show in Edmonton .It drew alot of attention because of it's uniqueness .There is somthing about the carriers that draws a crowed .So here we come you fellows with the $ 90,000 restored cars and it doesn't have to be perfect
